Reaction Training Drills for Basketball
Sprints
Arrange your Reaction Pods around the room on the floor, leaving minimum of 15 feet of distance between each pod. Set the pods up to randomly flash within the app and various times. Sprint between the pods, tapping each as it lights up as quickly as you can. As you progress, you will be able to adjust the amount of time between each lighting up and/or move the pods farther apart.
Benefit: Performing this drill can help to improve overall reaction time, ensurance, and agility.
Plank
This can be done individually or as a competition between two players. Using 3 pods per person, set the pds a few inches from each other, making sure you are able to touch each from the plank position. Assign the pods to flash randomly within the app. See who can tap theirs faster.
If you are completing this drill by yourself, you can set up as many pods as you’d like.
Benefit: Performing this drill helps to improve core strength, agility, and balance.
Triangle Sprints
Set up the pods to make a triangle, leaving a minimum of 10 feet between each pod. The player will stand in the middle of the triangle, and sprinting to tap each light pod as it flashes. Over time, the player will be able to reduce the time between flashes and/or move the pods farther apart.
Benefit: This drill helps to improve agility, balance, and endurance.
